A plastic specially developed for engraving. Consisting of a transparent acrylic core with a coloured layer underneath. Perfect for engraving and laser cutting.

Properties

Transparent engraving laminate consists of two layers of aacrylic: a transparent core and a coloured layer on the back. By engraving the back, the coloured layer is removed locally, making the material translucent and matte. The front remains glossy and transparent, through which you see a high-contrast engraving. This creates an interesting depth effect.

Transparent engraving laminates are extruded, giving them a very uniform thickness. This is also known as low thickness tolerance. Extruded sheets have a more stable thickness than common cast sheets.

Laser-cut edges become shiny, clear, and neat. Laser engravings become translucent and matte. Engravings are high-contrast and easy to read.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, shatterproof and UV-resistant, up to 82°C.

Applications

This material is specially made for engraving. It is used for signage and wayfinding, but also for front panels and edge-lit objects. Illuminating an engraving brings it to life; this can be done with daylight, LED light shining into the side, or light shining behind the sheet.

These sheets are perfect for visual applications where light and depth make the difference: illuminated nameplates, dashboards, decorative logos, and atmospheric wayfinding. This material also works excellently for type plates, CE plates, and information boards.
