What do you see on a sample?

Samples are laser cut on our own machines, and provide a clear picture of what to expect.

Line and surface engraving you see as two rounds, the color is usually a bit darker than the material. Only if a material is suitable for engravings.

Cut width you see in the incised corner.

Edge quality shows the laser edge, some materials give off soot and others just shine.

Surface and bottom some materials shine, others are translucent or flexible. You can best see this with a material sample in your hand.

Do you need a sample of a material? Then order a material sample chain. There are different selections, the samples you need can be found per category or application. Below you will find which materials are all in which sample chains.

Why a material sample chain?

A photo of a material is simply not the same as seeing and feeling something in real life. With a physical sample you can see how flexible, translucent or shiny a material is, these are important features for a design. Make informed design decisions, get inspiration and compare from your own desk.

We have put together our material range with great care and we are proud of the quality we deliver. Assess what you think of our material with a material sample chain.

About the samples

The samples are 6 x 6 cm in size. They are laser cut, so you can see what edge quality you can expect when you order from us. At one corner, the samples are cut with the laser, so you can see how wide the cut is. To see what engravings look like, each sample has a surface engraving and a line engraving, with the exception of materials that are not suitable for engraving.

Some samples have laser stains or smoke deposits on the bottom, this shows how they normally come out of the laser. If you do not want this, you can choose protective film when ordering your laser parts. Protective film also helps against scratches during transport.

Would you like to have products made in series without laser stains and without having to remove foil? We have a special machine for that. See volume production and contact us for the possibilities.

How quickly are sample chains sent?

How do I choose a material for laser cutting?

The materials in our range have all been extensively tested and approved for laser cutting, so you're in the right place. However, it does differ per material what it looks like when it is cut with the laser. Order one material sample chain to see in real life how the laser cuts and engraves in the material you want to use. The samples are a representative representation of the quality we supply.

Furthermore, your choice depends on your design. Do you want to have something made out of wood or plastic? What should your material look like and what are the technical specifications that the material must meet? These are all questions that you as a designer should think about, but we are also happy to help you. Feel free to contact us for material advice for your project.
