Cutting Lab is a manufacturing company specializing in computerized cutting of various sheet materials. We offer customers the ability to convert their designs into physical products through an online ordering environment. We also offer design and development assistance and sell our own and third-party products.

  • In these terms and conditions, Snijlab is referred to as "We", "us", "our" or "Snijlab".
  • In these terms and conditions, the client is referred to as "customer" or "client".
  • A client is defined as a person who uploads a drawing to our website or a person who otherwise commissions us or enters into an agreement with Snijlab.
  • Model is understood to mean: a representation of a design for example in the form of (digital) drawings, CAD models, sketches, design descriptions or prototypes.

The customer retains the intellectual property rights to his or her products, models and production drawings.

We will not publish or provide products, models or production drawings submitted to us to third parties without the customer's explicit consent.

The customer must hold all relevant ownership or usage rights to the models and production drawings submitted. Snijlab assumes that the customer holds these rights. Snijlab cannot be held liable for claims regarding intellectual property rights of supplied models or production drawings.

We reserve the right to refuse orders if it is suspected that the customer does not possess the necessary property rights, if a model or production drawing goes against legal provisions or at our own discretion.

When Snijlab performs drawing work, design work, concept development or similar work, it retains the intellectual property rights over its own work unless otherwise agreed. Photographs taken by Snijlab contain copyrights and may not be reproduced or used without explicit permission.

When we make products, models or drawings available for use by third parties (via website, spoken word or any other medium) we do so, unless otherwise stated, under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC BY-SA 3.0) license. This includes the following:

The user may:

  • copy, distribute and transmit the work.

  • Remix - create derivative works.

  • Using the work for commercial purposes.
    Under the following conditions:

  • Attribution - The user must credit the work with the name "Snijlab" and the URL "www.snijlab.nl" (but not in such a way as to give the impression that Snijlab agrees with the work or use of the work).

  • Equal sharing - If the user edits the work, the resulting work can be distributed only under the same license as the present license or a similar license.

A different license may apply per project.

Snijlab calculates prices for cutting orders in advance based on the supplied digital production drawing.

Although we do our best to make an accurate estimate, production costs may be higher than calculated. Higher production costs are borne by Snijlab, but should this difference be too great in our opinion, Snijlab may refuse the order. The customer will be informed as soon as possible and the amount paid will be refunded.

Any shipping or transport costs to delivery address will be borne by the customer.

All prices are subject to printing and software errors.

We guarantee only that the products made by Snijlab meet the specifications of the submitted drawing and the chosen material in compliance with the usual tolerances.

A drawing uploaded or otherwise provided by the customer shall, unless specifically stated otherwise by the customer, be interpreted as a final production drawing and shall be produced without modification.

By default, made products are delivered unfinished so phenomena of the production process (e.g. smoke deposits, melt edges and/or reflection, cut width) may be visible.

We do not guarantee that any product made with us will be suitable for any particular purpose.

Therefore, Snijlab will not replace or reimburse products when there is a problem with the design, material selection or performance. The customer should assume that several attempts are required to perfect a design. Prototyping and refinement are integral parts of the design process, especially when interlocking parts are made.

If a product does not meet specifications or is found to be defective, the customer must notify us immediately in writing of all defects. Do not return the products unless we request it. In consultation with us, the customer may choose replacement, repair or refund of the purchase price.

Delivery time is approximated by Snijlab prior to purchase. We strive to deliver products for shipment or pickup within 5 business days.

An express service whereby products can be delivered within a few hours is available in some cases following telephone consultation. This will incur additional costs.

The delivery time only starts when the customer has agreed to the quotation and when all necessary commercial and technical information etc. (e.g. production drawings, required materials, contact details) have been received by us.

Changes in the production drawings, desired materials or requested quantities can lead to more or less work, resulting in different costs and delivery times.

Exceeding the delivery time shall in no case give the right to compensation unless agreed in writing.

Although we make every effort to ensure that the products reach the customer as soon as possible, we are not liable for any delays caused by the postal carrier or carrier.

Delivery of own material

Snijlab supplies a wide range of materials from which a product can be made and strives to use these materials when manufacturing products.

In addition, an extra piece of material of at least 100x100mm is required for a cutting test.Snijlab may charge 25% of the market price of the material supplied to cover additional costs. If the customer is acting on behalf of a company, Snijlab is not liable for damage to the material supplied as a result of improper processing. At the customer's request, we will perform the machining again, using new material supplied by the customer at the customer's expense.

Non-tailored products may be returned within 7 days of purchase for a full refund.

For returns, shipping costs and shipping risk are the customer's responsibility.

Products custom-made by us cannot be returned.
