Description

A hard, fast-growing wood species with a distinct appearance. The boards consist of side glued ("side pressed") strips. 

NB: we also have bamboo plywood, which is a lot stronger than these side-pressed panels due to cross-gluing.

Properties
Unlike plywood, this is a solid board. The outer layers of the bamboo stem are glued together in narrow strips to obtain this board. The bottom and top of the board are the same and the surface is hard and smooth. Bamboo is stiff and tough in line with the grain direction (strips of it can even be braided), but prone to breakage along the grain.

Applications
Solid bamboo is used for enclosures, store displays and front panels, among others.
