Vacancy: Production Assistant (0.6 FTE)
Part-time, Rotterdam
Snijlab is growing, and to keep up with that growth, we are looking for reinforcement for our production department, starting August 1st. Would you like to contribute to the coolest laser-cut designs? As a Production Assistant, you ensure that orders arrive neatly and on time with our customers. This means you play an important role in both the production process and a positive customer experience.
You will start in our production's packing department. Additionally, where possible, you will be assigned supporting tasks within the production team, such as laser engraving. It's a practical entry-level position within a growing company, with plenty of room to develop yourself further if that suits you.

About the Role
In this position, you will start in the packing department. Here, you will daily pack our orders to be sent to our customers. You are an essential part of our logistics process, and your work impacts the positive experience of our customers. It is important that you work accurately, thoroughly, and efficiently. You will work with our order processing software. We have defined and, as far as possible, standardized methodologies for packing.
In this role, the challenge is to pack a large number of orders securely and flawlessly, so they arrive intact with the customer.
Daily tasks:
- Pack orders and administer correctly
- Apply shipping labels correctly
- Report errors or potential problems to production management on time
- Keep track of packing materials and indicate when new stock needs to be ordered
- Assist the production team where necessary with tasks such as applying film, engraving, or sanding
- Team meeting at the start of each day
As a Production Assistant, you are responsible for ensuring that our customers receive their orders complete, intact, and neatly packaged. To achieve this, it's important that you check and carefully count the items when packing. It is important that you work accurately and systematically so that everything is packed safely. Furthermore, the package is the first thing our customers see; will you ensure that our first impression is neat and tidy? You will work closely with the laser operators and the warehouse.
This is an entry-level position within Snijlab. We often see people grow from the packing department, for example, to a Laser Operator in the production department. We support development and growth, but there is no fixed trajectory for this; it happens as soon as individuals show interest and talent on their own initiative.
About Snijlab
Snijlab is a laser cutting service. Our customers create a design, and we cut it from plastic and wooden sheets. With our easy ordering process, we make laser cutting accessible to businesses and individuals. We serve the creative and technical sectors.
Lasersheets, our subsidiary, sells sheet material to people who own a laser cutter. Here, we apply the same knowledge to a different target group.
Snijlab has an informal company culture. We value creating things ourselves and learning as we go. People motivated by their own curiosity fit well within our team.
Who are you?
- You think practically, react quickly, and work both accurately and efficiently
- You have an affinity for technology and design
- You are used to working in a process-oriented way
- You enjoy working in a team and a production company
- You take initiative where you see opportunities. You communicate clearly.
- You speak good Dutch and/or English
Nice to haves:
- Experience with packing work
- Experience in a production environment
For this position, you don't need to have experience with laser cutting; we are happy to teach you what you need to know on-the-job. What we do find important is that you have an affinity for making things yourself, materials, and/or production techniques.
What we offer:
- 0.6 FTE, flexibility to create a work schedule that suits you
- A market-conform salary
- 20 vacation days per year (based on full-time employment)
