Job Opening: Content Creator (16-20 hours)

Part-time, Rotterdam

Will you tell our story in video, image, and text? We are looking for a content creator with an affinity for the manufacturing industry, design, art, and technology. Every day, hundreds of unique designs are laser-cut by us. To inspire our customers and explain what laser can do, we need appealing content. Will you inspire the maker community from our workshop?

About the Role

Laser cutting offers endless possibilities. As a content creator, you will inspire and educate our audience on what they can create. Your activities will include:

  • Highlighting products and services in videos and text
  • Creating campaign videos and photos
  • Producing tutorials and screencasts
  • Writing blogs and case studies
  • Taking product photos
  • Customer research and interviews

Your task is to create videos and texts that spark new ideas for customers, to share our technical knowledge in an engaging way, and to increase engagement with our audience.

You will work within the marketing team of Snijlab and Lasersheets, where you will collaborate closely with the marketer and one of the founders.

About Snijlab

Snijlab is a laser cutting service. Our customers create a design, and we cut it from plastic and wooden sheets. With our easy ordering process, we make laser cutting accessible to businesses and individuals. We serve the creative and technical sectors.

Lasersheets, our subsidiary, sells sheet materials to people who own a laser cutter. Here, we apply the same knowledge to a different target audience.

Snijlab has an informal company culture. We value making things ourselves and learning as we go. People who are motivated by their own curiosity fit well within our team.

Who are you?

You are a storyteller with commercial insight and an interest in laser cutting. Your diploma is not important to us, nor do you need direct experience with laser cutting itself, but an interest in materials and production techniques, and an affinity for design and making things yourself are essential.

You have experience shooting and editing video content and can execute this independently. This can be low-tech, as long as it communicates clearly and is on-brand. You are also skilled at writing texts that are pleasant to read. You have empathy for the customer and understand how to adapt your tone to address a specific target audience.

You don't need to be a laser cutting expert yet, but an interest in making things yourself is essential.
