Strong, beautiful and natural
Plywood laser cutting
Plywood is strong and has a beautiful natural appearance. The cross-glued layers make it strong in all directions. You can laser cut plywood from 0.5 mm to 12 mm thick.
Birch plywood is the strongest. Birch is perfect for furniture, panels and anything that needs to be strong. Lime plywood is the most economical choice. Lime is slightly less hard but still very strong.
Poplar is available up to 12mm thick and suitable for making larger objects from it. Poplar plywood is lightweight but because it has many layers it is still very strong.
The most advantageous wood you can cut
MDF laser cutting
MDF is one of the most inexpensive types of wood you can work with. But it's still very strong. Because it is completely homogeneous, the laser beam always passes through it cleanly and gets tight and consistent edges.
MDF varies very little in thickness, allowing you to make well-fitting joints.
Standard 3mm brown MDF is the most economical. Black MDF is a beautiful material because it is colored all the way through. This makes the lasered result look instantly neat. Black MDF is available in 3mm and 6mm thicknesses. Coated MDF is convenient because you don't have to finish it. But beware; it is not waterproof!
Oak, walnut, Ash and Mahogany with the advantages of MDF
Veneered wood with MDF core laser cutting
These boards have real wood on both sides and a core of MDF. This gives you the beautiful looks of solid wood, but not the disadvantages such as susceptibility to breakage and warping. The MDF core ensures that the boards are strong and do not break easily.
The laser-cut edge will be dark brown and neat. Veneered MDF is widely used for furniture, interior products, lamps, decorations, etc.
Bamboo laser cutting
Solid bamboo is particularly hard and therefore very neat to finish. In one direction (along the grain) it is strong. Across the grain it is fragile so be careful not to make your design too narrow.
Comparing samples of wood?
Order a sample necklace and compare all types of plastic in your own hand. That way you'll make an informed decision about your design.

To the samplesLaser engraving
In addition to cutting, you can also engrave. With this you add graphics, logos, text, instructions and embellishments.
Engraving can be done on laser cut parts and also on objects you provide yourself.
more about engravingWhat can you laser cutting from wood?
Laser cutting is used for furniture, instruments, puzzles, toys, art, lamps, models, decorations, cabinetry and even for appliance housings, test fixtures, assembly aids, milling jigs, templates, etc.
The ability to include all kinds of features in your design saves an enormous amount of time. For example, threaded holes, mortise and tenon joints, tooth joints, finger joints and dovetail joints. But laser cutting also gives new possibilities such as flexibility. Consider sninge or spring-loaded joints.

How thick wood can you laser cut?
We have wood from 0.5 mm thickness to 12 mm in our range.
The thickest type of plywood we have is poplar plywood.
At quantity we can laser cut thicker wood (up to 18 mm) in some cases. Please contact us with any questions about this.
Up to what size can you laser cut wood?
We cut up to 1200 x 600 mm in size (one quarter furniture board).
Can I supply my own wood?
It depends. By no means all types of wood (especially plywood and mdf) are good for laser cutting. We therefore strongly recommend using wood from our range. That is made specifically for laser cutting and is of high quality, including the inner layers.
Solid wood can usually be cut well (up to about 9mm). You can choose "self-delivered wood up to {thickness}." during ordering. If you place your order this way, you can then (have) the wood delivered to us. The delivery time starts as soon as the order and the material are in.
